Ginger Beer Margarita

April 28, 2017 By Angela Olson Matthews Leave a Comment · Print recipe ·

I know a Ginger Beer Margarita may sound like a strange combination. If you like a “Dark and Stormy” (Ginger Beer and Rum), you will really like this Margarita. It is not too sweet and not to sour, it is just right. It is so right, that it may sneak up on you if you have too many. This recipe can easily be doubled and tripled depending on how many you are making.

Serves: 2
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: None

6 ounces of tequila of your choice (about ¾ of a cup)
1 ounce fresh lime juice (2 tablespoons)
12 ounces of Ginger Beer (1 bottle)
Fine Sea Salt, for rim of glass (optional)
Slice of lime, for garnish and for around the rim of the glass
Ice

  1. In a cocktail shaker, shake tequila and lime juice with ice to chill.
  2. Run a lime around the rim of your glass and dip in salt.
  3. Fill the glass with your chilled tequila and lime juice.
  4. Top with ginger beer and garnish with a fresh lime slice.
